Description: Volumes I (1953), II (1958), & III (1967). Uniform blue cloth boards with gilt lettering. Volume II is inscribed by the author on the verso of the ffep. Light wear to bindings. Some pages have underlined names and two ffep's have short notations in their top corner. Volume II does not have a dust jacket. Vol. II's interior shows some damp staining in the top margin of some pages, a bit more prominently to the first dozen or so pages. Dust jackets are chipped around the top of their spines and show general wear and soiling; both are in archival sleeves. Several hundred illustrations. 80 pages of name indexes. V.1 xxxii, 666, [35]. V.2 xxi, 502, [18]. V.3 xv, 533, [27] (approximately 1850 total pages). 9 x 6 inches. Laid-in is an envelope with several newspaper clippings related to the Sias family (of Oregon & Washington), the theft of a Sias-owned yacht at Key West, and a 1960 telegram notice of a funeral.

Genealogy of the Sias family in America, being the descendants of John Sias of Wells, Maine and Durham, New Hampshire, who married Ann Pitman at Wells, Maine in 1698/99.

Dr Azariah Boody Sias (1880-1979) was a native of Monroe County, New York, and began collecting genealogical information on the Sias family in 1900 at the age of twenty. He was a Professor of Education and Director of Teacher Training at Ohio University. He was also a direct descendant of the Revolutionary War soldier Charles Sias, who served in the 2nd New Hampshire Regiment.
