The story of the dream-home castle built overlooking the Snake River by Marinus Buehl Sherman with biographical information on the Sherman family. Includes several pages written by Sherman himself, regarding his life, fruit (raspberry) farming in Idaho, and the castle. Sherman lived in the castle, which stood on the bluff across the river from Ontario, Oregon, until about 1930. The property was sold in 1949 and the castle was then demolished.
The author, Barbara J. Webb (1918-1996), and her husband purchased the property next to the Sherman dream home site in 1983. The work was written at the Payette County Museum and features many photographs provided by the children and grandchildren of the M.B. Sherman.
