A collection of 35 short stories, essays, and poems by Joseph Wright (1848/9-1915), the Glasgow-based umbrella maker to the Queen and Royal Family. Each of the pieces provides a glimpse into some aspect of life in Scotland and the character of its people.
Wright was the sole manufacturer of the Royal Drooko umbrella, for which, several illustrated advertisement appear at the end of the volume.
Printed by Carter & Pratt, 133 West Campbell Street, Glasgow. The printer was located at this address between 1889 and 1895, according to Glasgow Post Office directories.
