Adventures of three young men in the Tamaulipas jungles of northeastern Mexico who, with their Indian boatman, encounter the dangers of the wilds, including encounters with fierce wildlife, jaguar, crocodile, snakes, and wild pigs. The incidents of this journey down the Santa Rosa River, a tributary of the Panuco River, were based on the author's own experiences.
