Laid-in is a letter to Kathie Durbin by the woman who had Rita Mae sign it (circa 1979). On the letterhead of The Women's Writers' Center at Cazenovia College, New York, where RMB was teaching. The letter describes Rita Mae's lectures, her appearance, Fannie Flag--Rita Mae's new lover, praise and criticism of Six of One, and a statement that she (the letter writer) has some writing that she is going to run by Marge Piercy the following week.
