On front paste-down, the bookplate of Lily Antrobus, designed and engraved by the English artist Charles William Sherborn. Heavy foxing to pages. Some leaves are unopened/uncut. Includes a fold-out map showing the position of the thirty Jesuit towns in 1733. Index. xvi, 294 pp. 22 x 14.5 cm.

R. B. Cunninghame Graham (1852-1936) was a Scottish politician, writer, journalist and adventurer. This copy belonged to Lily Antrobus, Her bookplate is noted in the collections of the Rijksmuseum, the University of Delaware, and Aberystwyth University.
