Cookbook from the kitchen of the Historic Anderson House Hotel in Wabasha, Minnesota. Signed by both Belle Anderson Ebner (1889-1982), the daughter of the founder and the director of the hotel's experimental kitchen, and Jeanne McCaffrey Hall (1914-1994), granddaughter of the founder and hotel chef.
According to the authors' acknowledgment, the greater part of the recipes in this book are family recipes--many passed down through the generations, and some have come from guests and other sources. There are also many recipes from the American South, introduced as a result of Jeanne Hall's stay in the south (Biloxi, New Orleans, and Palm Beach). The hotel's close proximity to the Mayo Clinic brought in many international travelers, who introduced the hotel to a variety of recipes.
