Sandra and the Right Prince was the first of two collaborations between two Bay Area creators, Paget-Fredericks and Mildred Anderson. The story tells of the tale of the Princess Sandra and the princes who would seek her hand in marriage and who are put to the test by dragons. This tale of dragons, princes and a beautiful princess has all the charm of a traditional fairy tale.

The artist, Joseph Rous Paget-Fredericks (1903-1963), was a designer, dancer, and book illustrator based in Berkeley, California. He was born in San Francisco, attended the University of California, and later studied art under Leon Bakst and John Singer Sargent. He served as the Art Director for the famous Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova's world tours in the early thirties and taught design at the California College of Arts and Crafts and at the Jean Turner Art Center.

Mildred Napier Anderson (1876-1974), poet and author of children's books, was a long-time resident of Oakland.
