Two poems and few pages of analysis for each. ''Pleasures of Memory'' by the English poet Samuel Rogers (1763-1855) and ''Pleasures of Hope,'' by the Scottish poet Thomas Campbell (1777-1844). Campbell's poem was inspired by and imitates the former. Concludes with sixteen pages of notes, including the many literary references which the poems incorporate.
