Portland's Historic Sidewalk Signatures: a collection of 276 rubbings of builders names and construction dates stamped into Portland's concrete sidewalks from 1900 to 1930. Includes notes on each signature indicating its exact location measured in paces from the nearest street corner. The introduction provides a description of how the rubbings were made and photos of the process. The signatures were a form of advertising for contractors and concrete companies.

Christopher A. Gossett graduated with a degree in printmaking and drawing from Portland State University in 1976. He published another book in 1983 called Rubbings from the Rose City.
