Each volume has four illustrated plates (including two frontispiece illustrations); Little Grandfather still has its tissue guard separating the frontispiece images. 203; 221 pages. 6 x 4.5 inches.
The copyright dates are 1872 & 1873. This edition of the books was likely issued sometime in the 1890s and definitely before 1905 (when the publisher changed their name to Lothrop Lee & Shepard).
