Sutherlin, Oregon) came to Oregon by wagon train from Missouri in 1851, and Ezra Blake Baird, the author's father (b. 1838 Pennsylvania, d. 1927 Roseburg, Oregon) came to Oregon by railroad in 1906.
The author, Maude Estella Baird Cole (1900-1999) of Roseburg, writes about her and her husband's families and their lives in and around the Roseburg/Oakland/Sutherlin area of Douglas County, in southern Oregon.
