A dozen refugee memoirs written by Vietnamese students at Portland Community College. Most of these essays are efforts to either record the experience of escaping from Vietnam (1975-1978) or to analyze the reasons for escaping. However, the first and the last essays in the volume are recollections of travel in Vietnam during and after the war.
