A handsomely produced and thoroughly illustrated tribute to the bullfighter and painter John Fulton (1932-1998), the only American to have ever risen to the rank of Matador de Toros in the prestigious Maestranza Bullring of Seville (alternativa 1963). Fulton began his apprenticeship, both as an artist and as a bullfighter, in the 1950s in Spain and Mexico, and after forty years retired in 1994.
This tribute tells the story of Fulton's life and career, and is told through a collection of recollections and anecdotes, including those which appear in own words. Two of the many interesting and notable people he encountered, befriended, and writes about are Ernest Hemingway and James Michener.
