A short 22-page history and description of the operations of the Nova Scotia firm Garrett's, which made burlap patterns for hooked rugs. The company was founded by John E. Garrett (1865-1937) in 1892 in New Glasgow and was continued by his sons Arthur, Frank, and Cecil, and grandson Cameron, until it closure in 1974. Based in part on a 1927 talk by Cecil Garrett and a 1989 interview with Cameron Garrett.
The final 94 pages show Bluenose Patterns taken from the Garretts catalogues, ranging from those produced in early times to 1974, more or less in chronological order.
