Description: Binding in full leather, decoratively stamped in gilt and blind. Head of spine repaired. Leather is cracked along the outer front hinge, but the hinge itself is fully intact and strong. Corners rubbed; light scuffing. Interior is clean and unmarked. Illustrated. 1300 pages. 11.25 x 9.25 x 2.5 inches.  

A 240-page history of Oregon with more than a thousand pages of biographies of notable Oregon pioneers and early residents, many with full page portraits.  

The author, Rev. Harvey Kimball Hines (1828-1902), the brother of Rev. Gustavus Hines, was deeply involved in both church and political organization during the early settlement of the Pacific Northwest.
