The author, Rev. Edward Arthur Wicher (1872-1957), had been a professor at the San Francisco Theological Seminary at San Anselmo between 1905 and 1945. He inscribed this copy, ''To Rev. James H. Price / with kindest regards of / the author''. [Possibly Rev. James H. Price (1892-1970) who spent forty years as a Congregational ministry in California, mostly in the Bay Area, Los Angeles, and Escondido. He was a graduate of Pacific University (Oregon) and the Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley.]
