Historical novel of Ireland by Francis Sheehy-Skeffington (1878-1916), an Irish writer, radical activist, and a friend and schoolmate of James Joyce at University College, Dublin. (The character McCann in Joyce's A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man and Stephen Hero, is based on Skeffington.) In Dark and Evil Days was written in 1907 and published posthumously. The setting is County Wexford in 1798.
