Title: The Devil Worshipper

Author: Frederick A. Ray

Description: Boards in black cloth with a vivid pictorial of devil, pitchforks and flaming urn in gilt and red on the front cover, spine titled in red. Top edge gilt (bright). Interior is clean and unmarked. Pages crisp. Color frontispiece by John Goss, with tissue guard. pp. iv, 469, plus [2] ads.

A beautiful copy of a very uncommon book. On one page (p. 173), a small piece has been torn away from the upper right corner (not affecting any text). The complete torn piece is present and laid in at that page. Else fine.

A novel about greed and lust, including some episodes involving a Luciferian Cult centered in Paris. The settings range from the milieu of New York City's cultured class to the dramatic events and rituals that unfold on the Caribbean island of Martinique as Mount Pelee erupts (as it actually did in 1902).
