A short history of the Lost Battalion, including personal recollections, and verse describing the sentiments and experiences of the soldiers of the American Expeditionary Force during World War I. The Lost Battalion was comprised of nine companies of the US 77th Division, roughly 554 men, isolated by German forces in the Argonne Forest in October 1918.
The author, Lee Charles McCollum (1890-1982) of Seattle, was a private assigned to Company A of the 308th Infantry, one of the Lost Battalion companies.
