A collection of biographical stories from the career of Father Adrien Croquet (1818-1902), aka Fr. Crockett, a Belgian Catholic missionary who arrived in Oregon in 1859. He was well known in the Willamette Valley and along the Oregon coast (Tillamook, Coos Bay) and served as the principal Catholic missionary on the Grand Ronde Reservation, and, after 1879, he was also permitted to minister to the Siletz people.
The author, Fr. Martinus Cawley (1934-2019), was born in Australia and entered the Guadalupe Abbey in Carlton, Oregon in 1952. Among his other works, he wrote a history of the St. James Parish in McMinnville and a history of Trappists living in Linn County from 1904 to 1914.
