The Walton family was a notable Rockford family, centered around William Walton, vice-president of the Rockford Mitten and Hosiery Company. At least 18 recipes in the book were contributed by the Waltons: Mrs. William (Alma) Walton (1847-1917), and her daughters Misses Anna Burbank Walton and Mary Hannah Walton.
