One of the most important of early alchemical manuscripts (early 15th century). It interweaves spiritual, allegorical and material alchemy and utilizes a series of 38 coloured emblems to illustrate its ideas.
Newly translated. ''The present volume is believed to be the first translation in English of both Book I and II of the Aurora Consurgens, an alchemical text which has long been attributed (almost certainly erroneously) to St. Thomas Aquinas. Translated from the printed edition which appeared in the 1625 compilation of Dr. Johann Rhenanus entitled Harmoniae Chymico-Philosophicae.
