First published in 1926 as a serial in the Russian Zionist journal Razsvet, and in book form in 1927 in Berlin & Tel-Aviv under the title Shamshon (Samson). This book served as the basis for Cecil B. DeMille's 1949 film Samson and Delilah. The author, Vladimir (Ze'ev) Jabotinsky (1880 -1940), was a Zionist leader, founder of Revisionist Zionism, and commander of the Irgun.
