A scarce first edition, with First Edition statement on the copyright page along with Harper's ''H-Z'' month-year code (August 1950). The first of two autobiographical memoirs by Jade Snow Wong (1922-2006), a Chinese American ceramic artist who was raised in San Francisco. Fifth Chinese Daughter covers her life up to the year 1945.
