a) de Brunhoff's 56-page saddle stitched maquette (sketched mockup) of Histoire de Babar,
b) sixty-one sketches on loose sheets,
c) the limitation certificate.

This definitive facsimile of the original 1931 Histoire de Babar, beautifully presented along with de Brunhoff's archived materials from The Morgan Library, thoroughly documents the origin and development of the character of Babar, his story, and the book that would go on to capture hearts and imaginations around the world.
