An uncommon, but flawed, first edition copy of the autobiography of the Connecticut fishing captain, author, and maritime painter, Ellery Franklin Thompson (1899-1986). Draggerman's Haul was his first book and describes his life and experiences as a fisherman in the waters off Connecticut and up to Nantucket, between the years 1914 and 1949. Includes a chapter on rum-running during Prohibition and a chapter on his early painting during the Great Depression.

Ellery Thompson lived and worked in the Connecticut shore towns of Stonington, Groton, Mystic and New London. His paintings have been exhibited at the Mystic Seaport Museum, New Bedford Museum, Stonington Historical Society, and the Custom House Maritime Museum in New London.
