Many branded product are excoriated and their ingredients and actual effects explained, ranging from tooth pastes, tooth bleaches, and tooth powders, to mouth washes, antiseptics, and various other syrups, gums, and lotions. He laments the effectiveness of the misleading claims and ''fear advertising'' abounding on radio and in magazines, addresses the weaknesses in U.S. federal food and drug laws.
