A detailed biography of Mary Dagworthy Yard James (1810-1883), a prominent figure in the Wesleyan Holiness movement and a close associate of Phoebe Palmer. She often led meetings at Ocean Grove, New Jersey, and elsewhere. She was also the author of about 50 hymns and wrote articles for the Guide to Holiness, the New York Christian Advocate, The Contributor, The Christian Witness, The Christian Woman, The Christian Standard, and the Ocean Grove Record.
