Inserted catalog at front, dated May 1, 1849 ('B' variant). Book plate for the King Library, Andalusia (Bensalem), Pa. on front pastedown (vol. no. 368) and library rubber stamp on p. 151. Pages show foxing and edges are darkened. The last few leaves have a grubby appearance, heavier in the top and bottom margins. The word ''END'' is not present on the final page. 188 p.
The first edition (5100 copies) was completed by May 12, 1849, on which date it was put on sale.
