A fascinating collection of accounts about the pioneers, homesteaders, and their families, who lived on the west side of the Olympic Peninsula (from Neah Bay to about Oil City). The author, the local historian Lonnie Archibald, collected these stories from more than 30 old-timers and with them provides a unique and detailed picture of the life and livelihood of many who made this area their home. The period covered is primarily the 1890s through the 1930s.
