The Boxer departed San Diego on 30 Mar 1953, joined Task Force 77, engaged in strategic bombing missions and provided close air support for UN troops until the armistice was reached in July. She remained in Korean waters until November 1953.

The USS Boxer (CVA-21) was an Essex-class aircraft carrier, commissioned in 1945 and decommissioned in 1969.
