A large materia medica, organized from A to Z, with the section for each remedy covering its common name, pathogenesis, therapeutics, and leading indications. Two indexes are provided: 1) a Clinical Index (diseases, disease conditions, and some important symptoms) and 2) the Index of Aggravations and Ameliorations (indicating when a patient is influenced ''generally'' by a modality and its corresponding drug, and when s/he is affected by it only in a particular part or function).

The authors were both prominent British homeopathic physicians. Edwin Awdas Neatby (1858-1933) served as Physician at the London Homeopathic Hospital, Consulting Physician at the Buchanan Homeopathic Hospital, Consulting Surgeon at the Leaf Hospital, and as President of the British Homeopathic Society. He founded the Missionary School of Homeopathy in 1903.

Thomas George Stonham (b. 1859) was an orthodox physician, surgeon and dentist who converted to homeopath to become a Physician at the London Homeopathic Hospital, Vice President of the British Homeopathic Society, and editor of the British Journal of Homeopathy.
