A prolifically illustrated history of the 331st Combat Team in World War II, which describes their ten-and-a-half months of continuous fighting and participation in five European campaigns: Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe.

The 331st Combat Team, commanded by Col. Robert H. York, was part of the 83d Infantry Division, and incorporated the 331st Infantry Regiment, the 908th Field Artillery Battalion, and Co. C. 308th Engineers and Co. C. 308th Medical Battalion.

Includes portraits of commanding officer, regimental staff, battalion commanders and staff, and company commanders, as well as a 'Roll of Honor' (medals awarded) and 'In Memoriam' list, which also notes non-combat deaths separately. The fold-out map shows the 331st's route: from Southampton to Omaha Beach, and on through France, Luxembourg, Belgium and Germany.
