Rosanne Howard Coggeshall (1946-2009) received her doctorate at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in 1978 and taught Creative Writing and English at Hollins College, UNC-Chapel Hill and Duke University. She published two other volumes of poetry: "Traffic, with Ghosts" (Houghton Mifflin, 1984) and "Fire or Fire" (Louisiana State University Press, 2000).
