Description: Bound sammelband of Bowdoin College/Medical College of Maine catalogues, with issues of The Bugle, event programs from the years 1866-1870, a record of alumni and faculty, plus the text of the 1867 inaugural address of the Bowdoin's fifth president, Samuel Harris (1814-1899), the first Bowdoin alumnus (Class of 1833) to occupy the school's presidency. Also included, but falling outside of this date range, is the December 1876 issue of The Bugle. In addition, there is an 1867 program from Bates College and an 1870 Bath High School commencement program laid in.

A fine collection of Bowdoin publications, thoughtfully preserved (presumably) by a member of the Class of 1870, covering four years at the school. Bound in quarter leather with brown, pebbled cloth sides. Gilt title "Bowdoin Relics" on spine. Leather edges are worn. Binding is firm. Each issue of the Bowdoin Catalogue and The Bowdoin Bugle includes the front cover of its wrapper.

The catalogues list the names of school's directors, officers, faculty and the students (noting hometown) in each of the four classes, the course of studies offered (with names of the textbooks used in each term). The issues of The Bugle list the names of the members in each of the fraternities and school clubs.

The 1870 Catalogus Collegh Bowdoinensis provides a year-by-year list of alumni of both Bowdoin College (1806-1870) and the Medical College of Maine (1821-1869), as well as a year-by-year list of laureates who had been instituted elsewhere who had also been awarded an honorary degree at Bowdoin (name index included). The deceased on these lists have their death-year and age at death noted. It also provides a record (noting years) of past presidents, overseers/trustees(?), professors, and tutors.
