A history of early eastern Lincoln County, Oregon and its communities (including Toledo, Elk City, Chitwood, Eddyville, and several other locations), with detailed accounts of its pioneers and early residents, and information on its schools, transportation, businesses, logging industry, and more. It also includes a bit of western Benton County history, such as early remembrances of Corvallis and Philomath.
The Hodges family had a long history in eastern Lincoln County and had farmed the Big Elk River Valley for three generations. Constance (b.1945) and Delbert (1940-1999) were residents of Eddyville.
