The volume is dedicated to H. P. Blavatsky, as well as to W.Q. Judge and Katherine A. Tingley, the leaders of the American Section of the Theosophical Society, and with whom Anderson was aligned. Tingley also founded and led the Theosophical community of Lomaland in Point Loma, San Diego.
Dr. Jerome A. Anderson (1847-1903) was a prominent early American Theosophist and author. He was a significant figure in the San Francisco branch of the Theosophical Society and was President of the Federation of Branches of the Theosophical Societies of the Pacific Coast. He was also the founder and editor of The New Californian, the first Theosophic periodical to be published on the West Coast.
