Noble Murray Eberhart (1870-1939) was a physician, surgeon, teacher, X-ray pioneer, electotherapy researcher, and medical device designer. He had been a former Head of the Department of Physiologic Therapeutics at the Medical Department of Loyola University and a former Head of Department of Electrotherapeutics at the Chicago College of Medicine and Surgery. He had also served as an attending surgeon or physician at the Cook County Hospital, the Chicago Baptist Hospital, and the Frances E. Willard Temperance Hospital.

This volume is from the personal library of Dr. Norman M. Abbe (1901-1997), who helped establish the Ohio Chiropractic Association and served as its Secretary/Treasurer for many years. In 1924, he received his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from the Great Lakes/Metropolitan Chiropractic College in Cleveland, his Degree in Radionics in 1926, and his Doctor of Mechanotherapy in 1929. He began his practice in Elyria and then Girard, before moving to Akron in 1943, where he practiced for until 1977. He continued to be an active practitioner until the age of 94. He was also a scion of one of the founding families of Elyria, Ohio. Abbe Road, which runs from Elyria to the shores of Lake Erie, was named for the family.
