Yearbook with portraits of the Nov 1956-Jan 1957 cadre (companies A, B, C) with
a 10-page history of the 38th's engagements in WWI, WWII, and Korea. The
regiment was initially constituted on May 15, 1917 and earned its
nickname ''Rock of the Marne'' on July 15, 1918 during the Second Battle
of the Marne, the final major German offensive on the Western Front
during the First World War.

From the collection of Verne A. Duncan, who served in Company A (Nov
1956-Jan 1957). He went on to be the Oregon Superintendent of Public
Schools from 1975 to 1989 and served in the Oregon State Legislature
from 1999 to 2003.
