Each book contains, on the front paste-down, a bookplate for Walter M. Pierce "Teacher-Lawyer-Farmer-Public Servant, Oregon State Senator 1903-07, 1917-21, Governor 1925-27, Representative in Congress 1933-43". Pages are all free of marks. Bindings are sound. Cloth bound volumes with gold gilt designs on fronts and spines.

Books were registered in the name of Lloyd Pierce, son of Oregon Governor, Walter M. Pierce. Registry certificate intact as in certificate stating that the Honorable Walter M. Pierce rendered patriotic services to the national cause during the Great War, stating he served in the 22nd Senatorial District and also as a member of the State Appeal Board.
