Amrit Lal (b. 1934, Lahore) addresses six socio-political problems facing India and proposes solutions: "a review of the judicial norms of crime and punishment, arresting the population explosion and bringing it down to zero growth level; establishing the supremacy of work culture; eradicating the menace of caste system and ridding the politics of criminalization and bureaucracy of politicization.
The author has advocated a new concept of declaring the guilty as Resident Non-Indian (R.N.I.) – depriving the criminal of Fundamental Rights under the constitution, including the Right of Property. The author also recommends public flogging for felonious acts like rape, child abuse, adulteration, trespass, cheating, fraud, drug peddling, extortion, etc."
