The author affixed large color photographs on both pastedowns: one of the conference panel at the book presentation held in May 2000 in Durango, held by the El Congreso Del Estado de Durango, la RED de Escritores Jose Revueltas y El Grupo Cultural Analco, and the other of him receiving a framed award at the same event. Laid in is a two page typed and signed letter on the author's letterhead to Dr. James Shand (who may be related to the author—some genealogical information is discussed in the letter), a history professor at the University of Portland (Oregon). Bound in is an original invitation to the event mentioned above.
