A narrative about the German orphans at New Braunfels, Texas, and the Ervenberg family. During the German immigration of the 1844/5s, many emigrants died of bubonic plague, both at sea and at the port town of Indianola before making the trek to New Braunfels, resulting in at least sixty orphans, nineteen of whom were cared for by Pastor and Mrs. Ervenberg of the Evangelical Church.
