Title: Bangkok Editor
Author: Alexander Macdonald
Description: Stated First Printing. Red cloth boards with yellow design. Previous owner's address rubber stamp on front pastedown and ffep. Light surface wear; a little musty. A note with an inscription has been affixed to the ffep with a paperclip. Paperclip is rusted and has left its mark on the half-title page.
In the note the previous owner, Ermine Potter, indicates that he personally knew the author, Macdonald. Amongst other things, he also notes that he arrived in Bangkok just at the moment the king's son and heir was born (July 28, 1952) and was there for the 21 gun salute to mark the occasion. That heir, Maha Vajiralongkorn (Rama X), is expected to be coronated king in May 2019. Professor Ermine L. Potter taught at Oregon State College (now University) and was head of the Animal Husbandry Dept. and from 1932 to 1949 he was the director of the Agricultural Economics Department. In 1952 the US government sent him to Bangkok to survey possibilities of the college to work, under the auspices of the Mutual Security Agency, to provide technical assistance to Kaesetsart University's rehabilitation and expansion.
