Eva Purefoy's 1971 edition of the well known Purefoy Hotel Cook Book (much expanded from the 1960 edition). The 88-room hotel was located in Talladega, Alabama and was in business from 1920 to 1961 and considered by some to be one of the greatest small town hotels in the United States. Eva Purefoy (1892-1975) was reared in a hotel atmosphere and she and her husband established the Purefoy Hotel in 1916 in Monroeville, Alabama, before moving their establishment to Talladega in 1920.
