Title: Project Telstar - Bell System Experiments in Active Satellite Communications
Description: Published circa 1962. Staple-bound in card wraps. Little bit a bend to the booklet. Minor edge wear; upper fore-edge corner bumped. Less than crisp. Photos.
Promotional booklet tells the story behind the Telstar experiments and its development, testing, and launch. Bell System in cooperation with NASA was to launch the Telstar satellite from Cape Canaveral. It was expected to be the United State's first active communications satellite capable of relaying television and high-speed data and was the first satellite to operate at high, microwave frequencies. It appears to have been written either just before or just slightly after the Telstar 1's launch in July 1962.
