Brown stone endpapers. Boards lightly rubbed affecting high spots and a small portion of the lettering. Interior is clean. Binding sound. xx, 491, plus [1] ad. 7.5 x 5.5 inches.

A very nice copy of the Landscape Edition. For this edition, each page is given a color margin (alternating blue, purple, indigo, green and teal) featuring a fine engraved landscape design. Includes a 17 page Milton biography. The last page is advertisement listing the other volumes available in Gall & Inglis's Landscape Edition of the Poets. A small plain card is laid in featuring a gift designation from Christmas 1881.

Includes the full Paradise Lost and Paradise Regained; Samson Agonistes; Comus; L'Allegro; Il Penseroso; Lycidas; Arcades; several miscellaneous pieces; 18 sonnets; several psalms; a few pages of translations of Dante, Euripides, Horace, etc.; Elegiarum Liber; Epigrammatum Liber; Sylvarum Liber; and Italian Sonnets.
