The author lived in Bolivia for twenty-nine years and here records his own adventurous encounters, as well as those of his companions, with the big cat in the Bolivian wilds. Caroll Glenn Tamplin (1900-1987) went to Central America as a missionary in 1925 and in 1931 moved to Bolivia to work amongst the Aymara Indians.
