Autobiography of Althea Jeannette "Jean" Walter (1885-1977). She was born in Latrobe (Westmoreland County), Pennsylvania, and moved with her family to Kingman, Kansas the following year. In 1911 she sailed to Korea and took up residence at the Ewha mission school (now known as the Ewha Womans University), where she taught until 1926. She then returned to the United States and taught for twenty-five years at North High School in Wichita, Kansas. She retired and moved to Boulder, Colorado. Includes thirteen pages of Walter family trees (originating in Lebanon and Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania).
The previous owner, Clella V. Gearhart, appears to have had some personal connection with the author. There are notes on a couple pages briefly elaborating on persons and places mentioned. Laid in is a review of the book published by a Wichita newspaper, upon which is written a note indicating that Dr. Gearhart is mentioned in the book (Clella's husband, Alonzo, was a surgeon. The Gearhart's lived in Wichita in the 1930's and 1940's).
